Why Iron Doors?

Have you been looking for a way to make your home stand out from the rest of the houses on the block? Midwest Iron Doors has your fix.

Iron doors are a unique way to boost curb appeal and improve your home’s security. While other iron doors are filled with foam that is believed to insulate your door, that foam alone is not a thermal break. Cold can still transfer through the iron, allowing condensation on the interior of the door during sustained periods of extreme cold weather. This can compromise the structures around your door and potentially cause damage inside your home such as warping, rot, mildew, and mold.

Large Rounded Iron Door with Grass Design

Midwest Iron Doors’ patented design helps prevent this. In 2010, we opened in Omaha, Nebraska, with the goal of meeting the growing demand for this incredible product. Our dedication to providing innovative results led us to provide the first thermal break iron doors in the U.S.

The thermal break consists of an exterior and interior door skin separated by an extruded aluminum core. The extruded aluminum core serves as a barrier to help stop the transfer of heat and cold from the exterior to the interior of the door panel. In addition to this system, the door itself is injected with closed-cell polyurethane foam.

The material connecting the extruded aluminum core is what helps prevent the temperature transfer from exterior to interior. This technology is the next generation in door design, and Midwest Iron Doors is the architect. We are constantly evolving to stay at the forefront of the industry and provide our clients only the best.

We already hold numerous patents on our thermal break technology. Our doors provide improved thermal performance over others on the market, making them ideal for all climates, from hot to cold.
